Welcome to Agawam American Legion Post 185!
Agawam American Legion Post 185 is embarking on a dynamic revitalization project designed to re-imagine the role of a local Legion post. Our mission is to create a modern civic hub, one that strengthens veteran support services, reinvigorates local engagement, and establishes a model of operational transparency and community alignment.

Under the leadership of Commander Ron Wieners Sr. and Strategic Lead Ron Wieners Jr., this reinvention aims to realign Post 185 with modern needs, reestablish its presence as a gathering place, and build sustainable impact through programming, partnerships, and facility enhancements.

This transformation is rooted in four primary pillars:

1. Veteran Mental Health & Recovery Services: Including 24/7 peer counseling, AA/SMART/Dharma meetings, and holistic wellness options.

2. Facility Renovation & Operational Overhaul: Upgrades to infrastructure, bar management, security, and digital tracking systems.

3. Inclusive Membership Growth: A cultural shift through an innovative ancillary membership model that promotes service-minded community involvement. Projected revenue from these memberships over four years exceeds $38,000.

4. Community Programs & Civic Engagement: Ranging from job fairs and youth outreach to Legion Baseball and new Softball initiatives in response to the rise of women's sports.
